Effects of a digital reminiscing intervention on people with dementia and their care-givers and relatives

Abstract Dementia is a source of growing concern globally, and often impacts on social communicative functioning. INdependent LIving Support Functions for the Elderly (IN LIFE) was project carried out within European Commission Research Innovation programme Horizon 2020 that resulted in development two digital communication aids reminiscence intervention elderly people with dementia their partners. The purpose this study to investigate effects quality life when using these aids. People (N = 118) formal care-givers 187) relatives 9) were given period 4–12 weeks. To assess range outcomes, questionnaires developed used along EQ-5D (European Quality Life – 5 Dimensions) QoL-AD (Quality Alzheimer's Disease) questionnaires. improved among measured ( p < 0.05). There also correlation between impact participants’ health wellbeing, carers’ rating usefulness care-givers’ satisfaction technology These results indicate may be useful interaction where one partner has dementia.
